RESOLUTIONS
To Resolve this behaviour, try the following:
- Start SmartTime application on the PC and Click on the Action and Start Server, if Start Server is not showing under the action button, try clicking on Stop Server and then retry Start Server - In the bottom right screen you will see a message showing that the server is running.
- If using an active Sync Connection, try Disconnecting and Reconnecting the PDA. Also ensure that Active Sync is running and that the Active Sync system notification icon in the bottom right of your windows system is connected. Please visit the microsoft web site for more information about active sync trouble shooting.
- If connecting wirelessly ensure that the PDA and wireless access point are communicating correctly, please refer to hardware vendors manual for more information.
- Your PDA communicates with Snarttime via a address port, (refer to Configuring Smarttime manual for settings), some security software packagesblock communication ports. The designate Smarttime port (default 44444) requires security access granted. Either disable firewall (not recomended) or refer to security software manual for information of how to allow port access.
